Services in Supply Chain Management - Kitting

Kitting, finishing and packaging are integral elements in the typical manufacturing process; their applications are wide and varied. Kitting is order fulfillment jargon for the preassembly of individual items into ready-to-ship kits instead of picking and packing items as orders are received. Portable kitting allows the thinking to be done ahead of time instead of on the production line; subsequently with large shipments quality and speed to market can be improved resulting in considerable cost savings.
